Pursue

If you have just graduated, what will you do first?

Find a stable job, save, get a house, get a car and be stuck forever in the rat race, because you will never be able to earn any income if you stop working. Do you like your life? Passionate about being in the rat race every weekday from 9 to 5, competing with so many others just to make a living?

If you are already in a job, what else do you do?

Work, work and work. Tired of working, complaining about how work sucks, complaining about how life sucks. But you just can’t seem to get out of the comfort zone, as everyone (since young) is telling you this is the right thing to do. Think, is that really what you want? Are you really contented about what you have? More money, less time, family complaining how little time you spent with them and blah blah blah. Life is hard enough and you still going to deal with all these shit, you start to blame others for how your life becomes like this. You blame your parents for not being rich, you blame the education that doesn’t bring you anywhere near a financially free place, you blame your job for eating up your time, you blame your family for not understanding how hard it is for you.

Tell you what, stop those nonsensical negative thinking. Didn’t you hear about THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING?

C’mon, there’s always a way out for you. But are you open-minded and daring enough to take on the challenge?

The idea of Sharing

April 19, 2010 Leave a comment

Someone told me that it’s human nature to share good things and I agree. Despite my reserved nature, I do not speak much to people, even to friends. I am, most of the time, the listener. However, it is noticeable that I am more than willing to share, good or bad, when there is a common topic.

For example, some people tend to read movie reviews before watching a movie. Reviews are considered as sharing. Words spread through mouths, and people relies on these comments to decide sometimes. Comments/sharing/advices/reviews, there are two sides of everything. It is either a “Good” or a “Bad”, which one do you believe in?

If you love drawing and designing (like me :D), would you rather listen to the comments of a successful designer than listening to an average person who does not have the slightest idea on designing? Undeniably, the choice is clear. To become successful, listen to someone successful. An average person can become an extraordinary person just by taking in those useful comments and take actions. Of course, I am not saying that EVERYTHING the successful person said is right, but there are always useful lessons to learn from them. What they did and fail, you do not have to repeat that kind of mistake.

Interestingly, I notice that some people do not always take in positive side of sharing experiences. Well, one of the most common “disease” in the people of this era is “skepticism”, especially when it involves business and earning income (most noticeable in Asia). Some tend to shut off without listening to the whole picture of being financially free, some just want to live in their own comfort zone and plan to work for the rest of the 30 – 40 years of their lives, some listen but no actions are taken.

Change, it is not impossible and everyone can do it. It just takes incredibly large amount of discipline and effort to change within oneself. Do you want to have low self esteem or a high self esteem? It is all about change and appreciating yourself and others too. Without change, you will not be able to open your eyes and ears to know what is out there for you, what is the best you can get. Don’t you have dreams that you really really want?

Are you really satisfied when you shrink your dream into something that you could afford? Or do you want to expand your possibilities and achieve your dream or a dream bigger than that.

Escaping9to5 to have smartpassiveincome

I chanced upon the website “Smart Passive Income” that linked to “Escaping 9 to 5“, and it’s fortunate that I did. There are so many ways of learning and activating the key to “success” on the internet, in this case, being financially free.

What does it mean by financially free?

Being financially free simply just meant its literal meaning; money is more than enough for us to NOT worry about it. I believe many people thought about not working (and chasing after money) and still more than enough money to travel around or stay at home with kids and etc. However, the funny thing is most people don’t take any actions on making themselves financially free.

There are two ways of earning an “income” — active and passive.

Active income means you TRADE time with money; you earn money but you lose time with anything and everything else. The more you want to earn money, the less time you will have. So do you want money or do you want time (for family/friends/entertainment)? Or both?

On the other hand, passive income (also known as “residue income”) is something that you can work on for a period of time and money just roll in every month. For example, investments; stocks; advertisements (if you have a platform for it) and so on. It’s not that difficult to understand, but not that simple to achieve it too. It requires hard work and effort, unlike what an average person think about sitting at home doing nothing. It does not mean you do not have to work, it just simply means you spend a minimal time to do something that will have a big result. It is just like the Pareto Principle, work smart and earn smart.

Do you want to chase after money or you want money to chase after you?

Interestingly, not many people are open to this idea even though they hate their jobs or they complain about how life sucks or maybe even the most common excuse: “I have no time for these”. I would tell you, you have time for anything. Don’t make excuses.

You would have around 2 to 4 hours of spare time to spend, but where do you usually do when you have this spare time? Entertainment? Or working for a better future so that you can have 16 hours of entertainment after you wake up without facing your boss 5 days a week?

I am not saying that everyone should quit the job and do this, because this takes time and perseverance to hit your goal and not ALL could do it. Some people would just want to stay inside their comfort zone and be safe, but it is also these people who consist of 80% of the population but only earn as little as 20% of the world’s wealth.
